Fondly called the ‘Billi Masi’ a character from the sketch series that she put on social media, Kusha Kapila has made a name for herself as a dynamic content creator known for her sharp wit and relatable characters. Her portrayal of 'Billi Maasi,’ an opinionated South Delhi auntie, took the internet by storm, earning massive recognition and propelling her into the social media spotlight. A particular video, a hilarious take on online fashion influencers, catapulted Kusha to mainstream fame, garnering millions of views and shares.

A graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology in fashion design, Kusha began her career in the fashion industry, interning at Bhartiya International Limited and Chisell Effects. Her professional trajectory took her to Apparel Online as a fashion correspondent, then to Razorfish Neev as a copywriter, honing her writing skills and developing a keen eye for trends.

Her role as a trend analyst and content writer at Fashion Forward Trends further deepened her understanding of the creative industry. This experience paved the way for her position as Fashion Editor at Times Internet, and later, as the Content Writer Head at iDiva. It was at iDiva that Kusha’s comedic genius began to shine. She ventured into video content creation, contributing to their engaging Facebook page. Around 2018, she started experimenting with satirical and humorous content on social media, marking a significant shift in her career trajectory.

Kusha's early parodies and witty observations resonated with audiences, but it was viral videos like 'Aunty and Me’ and 'Laxmi Narayan Tripathi Goes on a Date’ that introduced her distinct, hilarious voice and iconic characters. 

Her collaborations with celebrities like Sonam Kapoor and brands like Netflix showcased her versatility and influence. Kusha's wit, combined with her signature 'thenk you’, ‘shivoham’, ‘coco bhaia’ mantra, wasn't just a catchphrase; it was a spectacle that broke down the gates of social media stardom. 

Kusha’s content portfolio is diverse and ever-evolving. From Instagram reels and relatable sketches to brand collaborations and web series like 'Masaba Masaba’ and 'Minus One: New Chapter’  she keeps her audience engaged with fresh and innovative formats. 

Her impact extends beyond entertainment; she addresses social issues like body positivity and mental health awareness, encouraging open conversations and positive change.

Her filmography is equally impressive. Kusha made her television debut on 'Son of Abish' and appeared in the Netflix anthology film 'Ghost Stories' in 2020. She starred in Amazon Prime's comedy reality show 'LOL: Hasse Toh Phasse' in 2021 and the reality sketch comedy show 'Case Toh Banta Hai' on Amazon MiniTV in 2022. 

Kusha also featured in Season 2 of the Netflix TV series 'Masaba Masaba,' co-hosted the third season of 'Comicstaan,' and appeared in 'Plan A Plan B.' More recently, she played pivotal roles in 'Minus One: New Chapter,' 'Selfiee,' and 'Thank You for Coming,' which premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
